My current work looks at issues surrounding femininity, gender and social issues, I wanted to explore these themes in my work as I think they are important to highlight and raise awareness for them- especially as a woman. In my current work – I’ve explored these topics through the use of food, while I am discussing important issues, I wanted my images to be quirky, colourful and inviting and by using food in my work, I’m adding an element of comedy, but also I’m making people question my work, why that item of food is there, and how it is being used in that image. I also wanted to create work for women to understand. The art world is dominated by men – I wanted to create work that is by a woman, for women.
